The Civil Protection Service of Molise Region develops activity of forecast, prevention and management of the emergency connected to natural and human risks. The data used in the Regional GIS are connected to all Municipalities of the Molise Region and these data are very useful for risk analysis.

AB1: HERIMED – Italy
HERIMED was founded in 2006 as not for profit association. It is a result of EUROMED Heritage programme co-financed by the EU (EuropeAid Office). It is legally based at the premises of the Regional Center for planning and restoration of Palermo – CRPR). It enjoys with the scientific support of three members (University of Catania – Research center on the causes of degradation and for the recovery of the Cultural Heritage (C.R.I.Be.Cu.M.), RADAAR Department of la Sapienza and CRPR of Palermo. CRIBECUM has developed a certain methodology and different technical approaches to estimate the local seismic hazard. It has also a strong tradition in the field of research and training for risk prevention and has been working as a collaborator for the realisation of the risk map for the Sicilian Region. Participation in EC-Funded projects: METANIR and POLIRISK.

AB2: ITC – CNR – Italy
CNR-ITC carries out applied research and training in the construction sector. It develops improvements in the built environment; researches new methods for the development of technology for sustainable construction and building. It is present in the most important scientific, national institutional and international sectors. The CNR-ITC of L’Aquila deals with seismic risk (prevention, emergency and reconstruction), methodologies for ascertaining damage, vulnerability and safety of buildings, procedures for the technical management of post-seismic emergencies, guidelines for the management of recovery, orientation for projects aimed at forecast planning and prevention in urban and vast areas.

AB3: IAGPDS – Spain
IAGPDS is a research institute of the Granada University. IAGPDS has developed two research projects: the first project is founded by Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia of Spain and it is related to urban earthquake risk (EPSAU: Evaluación integrada de la peligrosidad sísmica en áreas urbanas aplicable a la gestión de riesgos sísmicos); the second project is founded by the Regional Goverment of Andalucía (Southern Spain) and it is related to regional seismic risk assessment for earthquake emergency planning (Project SISMOSAN: Evaluación detallada del riesgo sísmico de Andalucía para la Planificación de las Emergencias ante el riesgo sísmico).

AB4: KALIVIA – Greece
The Municipality of Kalivia Thorikou is a local government organization that relies on the principle of democracy. It takes any necessary actions that serve the democratic programming, the improvement of quality of life, and the support of local sustainable development and growth. Among those is the operation of the civil protection department. Especially after the devastating forest fire in August 2007 and the declaration of the Municipality as ‘’fire victim’’ region, the main action of the Municipality is to reinforce the civil protection department with equipment and more significant with further knowledge on how to face natural disasters.
